BullionByPost is proud to offer numismatic collectors a growing range of rare collectable coins, including this Angel, in good fine condition. This Angel features Annulets and a shield over a ship on the obverse and an Angel with small wings (St Michael), with both feet on a Dragon on the reverse.

1464 saw the first gold Angel appearing in British coinage. It weighed 80 grams with a value of 6 shillings and 8 pence which apparently was the standard professional fee at the time. It remained with us for almost 200 years until the reign of Charles I.
