The four guardians are creatures from Chinese astrology representing the four cardinal directions and the seasons. The White Tiger is thought of as king of the beasts and represents autumn as well as the western zodiac. The tiger’s rear is located in Andromeda and Pisces, its middle is in Ares and Taurus and its front is in Orion.
The reverse of the 2023 1 oz Silver Four Guardians White Tiger coin features a magnificent depiction of the tiger stalking with open claws and bearing its teeth in a menacing expression. Below is compass and the text 'White Tiger Of The West-Autumn'. The late Queen Elizabeth II and the Samoan Coat of Arms are featured on the obverse.
