The obverse of the coin features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, as the coin is a legal tender of the Independent State of Samoa, with the denomination of 5 Dollars. The reverse of the coin features the image of Batman, the Dark Knight of Gotham City, ready to defend the citizens against villains. The Batman image on the coin shows the character in his classic comic book appearance, wearing his trademark cowl and cape, with his emblematic bat symbol in the background.
