The 2024 proof Team GB 50p silver piedfort coin celebrates the remarkable athletes of Team GB and ParalympicsGB, highlighting their participation in the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Designed by Charis Tsevis, the coin features a mosaic artwork of a Team GB athlete and a ParalympicsGB athlete side by side against the full-colour backdrop of the Union flag which has been 'painted' directly onto the coin's surface. This special edition coin commemorates the UK's enduring legacy in both the Olympic and Paralympic movements, dating back to the 1896 Olympic Games and the 1948 Stoke Mandeville Games. As a 'piedfort' coin this silver 50p is the same size as a typical 50p coin but is twice the thickness and therefore contains twice the quantity of silver.
Produced in partnership with Team GB and ParalympicsGB, the 2024 Team GB proof piedfort fifty pence silver coin coin is an official tribute to the athletes' ongoing achievements and their inspirational impact on sports fans worldwide. It contains 16 grams of 925 Sterling Silver minted to a proof finish. It comes in a beautiful Royal Mint box and is accompanied by an informative booklet detailing the Games and British teams. To mark the occasion production of this 2024 Team Great Britain silver piedfort proof 50p has been limited to 2,024 presentation coins.
Following the changes to international shipping after Brexit, orders to the European Union under €1,500 will be sent with Colissimo, in collaboration with national postal services across Europe. Orders greater than €1,500 (up to €40,000) will be sent by FedEx.
