2008 1/10ounce Krugerrand. The Tenth Ounce Krugerrand is the smallest Krugerrand available. The one-tenth ounce, is 91.67 percent pure gold (22-carat) and has 3.11 grams of gold. It is 1.35 millimeters thick and 16.55 millimeter in diameter. The edge of the Krugerrand is etched with exactly one hundred-fifteen lines. The Krugerrand is minted in Germiston, South Africa at the Rand Refinery.
On the front of the Krugerrand (the obverse side) is a profile of Paul Kruger and on the back (or the reverse side) of the coin is a springbok. These images were designed by Coert Steynbert, an African sculptor.
