The Austrian Philharmonic Silver Coins are also known as Vienna Philharmonic or simply "Philharmonic". The name is derived from the world renowned Vienna Philharmonic orchestra, which is the central focus of design on the coins.

The main image features the pipe organ in the Vienna Musikverein's Golden Hall, and the obverse shows instruments of the Vienna Philharmonic, the horn, bassoon, harp and four violins and a cello.

The 1oz silver version of the famous Philharmonics, were first issued in 2008, and struck with a fineness of 999.9 pure silver. Available either individually, due to popularity, they are also available in "monster boxes" containing 25 tubes of 20 coins each. Legal tender in Austria, it is currently the only European bullion coin with a face value in Euros.
