Danish Kroner

The gold Danish Kroner coin was introduced in 1619, and later reintroduced in 1875 as the official currency of Denmark. The Danish Kroner is also known as the Krone, and is sometimes referred to a the Danish Crown, as the word krone means crown in Danish. Gold Kroner coins typically feature a portrait of a monarch, were issued in 20 and 50 denominations, and have been minted in Denmark since the 1600's.
