This gold proof £5 coin (aka Quintuple Sovereign, or gold Crown) was issued to celebrate the Platinum (70th) wedding anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.
Princess Elizabeth, as she was then known, and Philip Mountbatten were married on November 20th, 1947 at Westminster Abbey. Philip was made Duke of Edinburgh earlier that day, and Elizabeth ascended to the throne five years later in 1952.
This proof gold five pound coin is beautifully presented in a good-quality presentation case, and comes complete with a certificate of authenticity and a full colour booklet, which discusses the coin and marriage of the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.
Only 1,250 sets were issued, making this a rare coin, perfect for any royal collection.
