A very collectable, high-grade, hammered gold Laurel of King James I. The obverse features the fourth laureate bust in armour, facing left, with "XX" representing 20 shillings. The reverse shows a long-cross over the Royal Shield of arms. The mint mark of "Trefoil" representing the minting date of 1613, when "heretics" were burned at the stake for the last time in England.
