The 2023 Britannia quarter ounce gold coin is made of 24 carat gold (999.9 fineness), and features His Majesty King Charles III. It contains a quarter of a troy ounce (7.775 grams) of fine gold and has a face value of £25.

This will be the first 1/4oz gold Britannia coin to feature the King Charles III portrait by Martin Jennings. The reverse design is the secure lady Britannia design first issued in 2021 which includes the Royal Mint's advanced security measures, such as:

  • Micro-detail waves for the coin's background
  • Britannia's shield has additional line work detailing
  • Inner rim with additional Latin text
  • Padlock/trident changing hologram

Following the changes to international shipping after Brexit, orders to the European Union under €1,500 will be sent with Colissimo, in collaboration with national postal services across Europe. Orders greater than €1,500 (up to €40,000) will be sent by FedEx.

All orders of any size or value up to €40,000 are sent with free, insured delivery, with a 25kg weight limit per parcel. Orders worth more than €40,000 will be dispatched in separate parcels on consecutive days.
