Description

This mint 2000 box-set features a single gold proof Half-Sovereign coin. This coin weighs the same as a regular half-sovereign, at 3.99grams and 22-carat gold (91.67% fineness). Proof coins are struck using specially selected blanks and highly polished dies. During striking, the coinage dies exert enormous pressure on the coin blank, with at least two separate blows (or strikes), ensuring that the impression has extra clarity. The coin comes complete with its own booklet, and bound in a good looking case
