The 2022 Lion of England 1oz platinum coin is the first bullion release in the new Royal Tudor Beasts Collection from The Royal Mint. Like the Queen's Beasts series, the collection will feature 10 'Beasts', this time consisting of statues that line the Moat Bridge at Hampton Court.
The Lion of England is of course one of Britain's most iconic symbols, and remained so throughout the Tudor period. The statue is one of the first to line the Moat Bridge at Hampton Court, and bears a shield with the combined arms of Henry VIII and Jane Seymour.
The 2022 Lion of England gold coin is the first bullion coin to be released from the series, and contains one troy ounce of pure 999.5 platinum. As with other coins from The Royal Mint, it is considered legal tender and is therefore exempt from Capital Gains Tax.
Following the changes to international shipping after Brexit, orders to the European Union under €1,500 will be sent with Colissimo, in collaboration with national postal services across Europe. Orders greater than €1,500 (up to €40,000) will be sent by FedEx.
All orders of any size or value up to €40,000 are sent with free, insured delivery, with a 25kg weight limit per parcel. Orders worth more than €40,000 will be dispatched in separate parcels on consecutive days.
