2023 Fifty Pence 50p Gold 75 Years of the NHS Proof Coin Boxed

This special 2023 NHS gold Proof Fifty Pence coin is released to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the National Health Service in the United Kingdom. The NHS has been providing essential care to millions of people since its establishment on 5 July 1948 and has played a pivotal role, especially during the challenges faced with the Covid-19 pandemic.

Designed by Alice Lediard, the reverse side of the coin features a design reflecting the appreciation felt for the dedication and hard work of NHS workers, both past and present. The design includes meaningful words that pay tribute to the care and devotion exhibited by these healthcare professionals. The obverse bears the portrait of King Charles III by Martin Jennings.
