This Royal Mint box-set features a single gold 2021 proof Sovereign coin, with the 5th portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark.
This coin weighs the same as a regular (bullion) Sovereign, at 7.98 grams, and is struck from 22-carat gold (91.67% fineness). This proof has been struck using specially selected blanks, and highly polished dies. During striking, the coinage dies exert enormous pressure on the coin blank, with at least two separate blows (or strikes), ensuring that the impression has additional clarity.
To mark the 95th birthday of HRH Queen Elizabeth II a celebratory privy mark of the crown has been added to this sovereign. In addition the coin has be milled to have exactly 95 mill lines around its edge.
This gold Sovereign is bound in a good looking case, and comes complete with its own booklet/certificate of authenticity.
