King Charles III will celebrate his 75th birthday on the 14th of November 2023 and to mark this event in the life of the new king The Royal Mint’s Dan Thorne designed this £5 silver coin with an work personally approved by His Majesty. The edge of the coin is plated in fine gold and inscribed with the text ‘RESTORING HARMONY WITH NATURE’.
Celebrating the Life and Work of JRR Tolkien
This £2 silver coin celebrates the life of J.R.R. Tolkien, a giant of English literature and the father of fantasy fiction writing who died 50 years ago this year. It features his self-designed monogram surrounded by a runic band and his year of birth and death. The edge of the coin is plated in fine gold and inscribed with the text ‘NOT ALL THOSE WHO WANDER ARE LOST’ taken from a poem ‘The Riddle of Strider’ which appears in the fellowship of the ring.

The world’s most famous train and symbol of the age of steam celebrates 100 years of operation in 2023. This £2 silver coin is beautifully designed by John Bergdahl and features the edge inscription ‘LIVE FOR THE JOURNEY’.

75 Years of the Windrush Generation
HMT Empire Windrush sailing from Jamaica docked at Tilbury in Essex 21 June 1948 and started a process which would transform Britain into the modern multicultural society it is today. To celebrate the generations which moved to the UK this 50 pence coin features a design by the artist Valda Jackson showing two of the ship’s passengers against a backdrop of the Union flag.
