The 100th Anniversary of the BBC fifty pence coin.
The British Broadcasting Corporation was founded on 18 October 1922 and has the honour of being the oldest national broadcaster in the world. Initially a radio broadcaster, the BBC now also broadcasts on television as well as digitally, and provides a wide variety of services.
The reverse of this coin features a design by Henry Gray, which shows the reach of the BBC - now a global broadcaster. The obverse of the coin features Jody Clark's Fifth Portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
This Proof fifty pence coin is struck in sterling silver (.925) and weighs a total of 8g. It is presented in a handsome presentation box and comes with a certificate of authenticity and full colour booklet.
This coin is also available in gold - see our gold 50p coin category for more details.
