A Bahrain 10 Dinars gold coin. This rare Bahranian coin was produced by the British Royal Mint in 1968 on behalf of the Middle Eastern country to mark to creation of Isa Town - a settlement in the country.
The 10 Dinars ISA Town gold coin weighs 16 grams and contains 14.64 grams of pure gold. This makes it comparable to a Double Sovereign coin in weight and purity.
The town was named after Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the ruler of Bahrain at the time of minting. The bust of the Sheikh faces left on the obverse of coin. The reverse features the Bahrain coat of arms, as well as Arabic text and the Islamic calendar year of 1388. The coin was engraved by Michael Rizzello.
