A Thai 5000 Baht gold coin. This coin was issued in 1974 only. Just over 2,500 bullion coins were minted and fewer than 650 proof editions issued.

The 5000 Baht coin was minted to .900 fineness and weighs 33.437 grams. It features the head of Rama IX, the king of Thailand at the time the coin was minted, on the obverse and a White-eyed River Martin on the reverse.

This coin was produced by the Royal Mint in conjunction with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCNNR). The coin collection was released between 1974 and 1975.
