The reverse of the coin features the national coat of arms of Uruguay, which consists of a sun with a face surrounded by 16 golden rays, a blue and white striped oval, and a laurel branch and an olive branch tied together by a blue ribbon. The denomination of "5 PESOS" and the year of issue, "1930," are inscribed on the reverse along with the text 'CENTENARIO DE 1830' celebrating 100 years from the signing of the country's constitution.
