Born on November 14, 1948, at Buckingham Palace, Charles Philip Arthur George, now King Charles III, ascended the throne on September 8, 2022, following over 70 years as the heir apparent. Passionate about the arts, architecture, and environmental causes, he champions sustainability by working harmoniously with nature. Celebrating his 75th birthday, this coin features a design by Royal Mint's Dan Thorne which has been personally approved by The King. It showcases the King's royal cypher, with the number 75, framed by oak leaves and delphiniums.
This 2023 75th Birthday gold proof Crown coin is made of 22 carat (916.7) gold and has a diameter of 38.61mm. As a proof coin, it has a highly polished finish and is struck multiple times with specially prepared dies to give it a sharp, detailed design.
